Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed on his way home from a night out in Wythenshawe.

The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday 23 June 2013 on Firbank Road.

The 33-year-old victim left the Firbank pub at about 2am. As he walked down towards Tuffley Road he was approached by a man who lunged towards him and stabbed him in the arm.

The victim was taken to hospital where he underwent surgery and is on his way to making a full recovery.

The offender is described as white, in his late teens to early twenties, with a pasty, baby looking face, 5’7in to 5’9in, and of slim build.

Detective Constable Catherine Campbell, from Wythenshawe police station, said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a man walking home from a night out, who has now been left with a scar on his arm to remind him of the attack on a daily basis.

“There were people leaving the pub at a similar time who may have witnessed the incident, if you have any information about the attack I would urge you to contact police.”
