Wythenshawe pupils in race to fight cancer

DSC_0006c (1)Staff and pupils from Saint Paul’s Catholic High School in Wythenshawe joined together to take part in a Race for Life to raise funds for cancer research.

The school saw the event as an amazing way to celebrate life but also to remember those who have been lost to the disease.

“Race for Life is non-competitive. It doesn’t matter how fit or fast you are, which meant that everyone could join in,” explained Ms Laura Wild, Head of PE at Saint Paul’s. “Taking part was about joining together against a disease that affects all of us.”

Ms Wild added: “All the entrants were wearing pink, to some extent, and they ran, walked, hopped, skipped and danced their way around the course. It was great fun!”

“This was a fantastic event for the school. Race for Life is all about fun, friendship and people standing together to unite in the fight against cancer,” commented Mrs Fiona Minshall, Head Teacher at Saint Paul’s.”Our participants walked, jogged or ran but what was important was the power and strength that comes from us all joining together to confront cancer.”
