Thieves steal mobility scooter from 88-year-old- pensioner
Heartless thieves have stolen an 88-year-old woman’s mobility scooter in Northenden.
The scooter, which was stolen from the pensioner’s shed at her home, is only way she can get out and about.
At around 2.15am on Thursday 25 September 2014, two men broke into a shed of the home on Greenpark Road before they left with the scooter.
The scooter is described as a red Sovereign Roma 4 that had a black bag on the front and grey wheels.
It is believed both men were white and wore dark clothing with their hoods up. They left in the direction of Kenworthy Lane and one of them rode a bike.
Detective Constable Mike Clarke said: “The scooter is the woman’s only way of getting around and thanks to these two thieves, her quality of life has been deeply affected.
“I would appeal to anyone who may have seen these two men making their way from the house with the scooter to contact us. I would also appeal directly to the offenders themselves. You have taken something that is of no use to them but is vitally important to a vulnerable member of our community. Please return it as soon as possible.”
